TOSH provides state-of-the-art equipment and professional environment for its physicians to perform premier orthopedic services including total hip and joint replacement. Total hip replacement is a common orthopedic procedure. As the population ages, it is expected to become even more common. Hip replacement surgery involves removing the head of the thighbone (femur) and replacing the ball-and-socket mechanism of the hip with artificial implants. This relieves pain and improves mobility.
Minimally invasive hip replacement allows the surgeon to perform the hip replacement through one or two small incisions. Patients usually have less pain compared with traditional hip replacement surgery, and rehabilitation is faster.
Microvascular Free Flap reconstruction is a reconstructive surgery in which a tissue is transplanted from a part of the body (for example, the lower abdomen, or back) to create a new breast mound. Some women may require an implant, in addition to the flap reconstruction, for recreating the breast.
Vaporization of the prostate is a minimally invasive procedure that uses laser therapy to vaporize obstructive tissue in patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy symptoms. The laser beam rapidly heats the obstructive tissue and creates hemostasis, resulting in minimal incisions, less blood loss, and quicker recovery.
